So, it has been an eventful couple of days. I hiked about 26 kms yesterday, after planning on a shorter day. The day started with a climb up out of villafranca to the first stop about 12.5 kms through a forest. It was beautiful and misty but started to rain before long. We got wet but I enjoyed the trail a lot. Thenext we hiked to Ages, the archeological site with ancient man exhibition. I was still feeling good so went on to the next village. Ended up in a good albergue but with a really limited village. No wifi and limited food and laundry. Well we managed and the food was good anyhow.
So the big plan was to get the bus into Burgos this morning but we missed that turn off so walked in to the city. Then found a bank and stop for my power adapter. Then we tried to get a bus out of Burgos. ... long story short, we walked a really long way which included a detour of about 2kms and are in Taredajos. Tomorrow we are determined to have a shorter day and find a good laundry stop! It's too cold to do it today. So, the map says that I have 465 kms to go to Santiago. I might make it. My knee isn't any worse and my feet are all right, though sore and tired every day. My thighs seem to be sore this afternoon too. Well thats it for now.
45581 steps. ....many up the steps to the room. 3rd floor as is very common.
ReplyDeleteAn additional comment: I tried to buy melatonin at the farmacie but I think I bought something much more interesting. I have no idea what it is so I won't be taking it! I'll check it out at the next farmacie I come to. Just thought you should know about the mistakes too! Lol

DeleteSo, dinner tonight was lentil soup, roasted chicken and ice cream oh and of course vino Tinto. But the best was the company. There were 4 french people, 2 Russians and me,1 Canadian. It is quite amazing, really.
ReplyDeleteWhat an adventure. And so many steps. I think you will make it to Santiago if you want to do it. Sounds like the company may make some of those distances feel a lot shorter. Glad you got your adapter and are back on line when you can be. Love to read about your adventures. Keep on smiling my friend.
